WHAT A YEAR!
2021 marked the end of a two-year journey for the LiveWell team. We grew from a traditional in-person training and coaching model to a networked, peer-to-peer-based virtual learning one. In doing so, we laid the groundwork for LiveWell’s exciting -- and expansive -- future.
Highlights include:
28 teams from different communities, including 128 staff and administrators, completed the Virtual Learning Collaboratives. Collectively, they saved more than $2.5 million by reducing staff turnover and preventable mistakes
We launched the LiveWell Leader Program for communities wanting to accelerate their improvement efforts, showcase their successes, and test our new products
We collaborated and shared LiveWell materials with Oregon Health Care Association, LeadingAge Oregon, and Qualitas Consortium
We received the final evaluation of LiveWell from PSU's Institute on Aging showing that communities that did LiveWell experienced improvements in many areas:
Staff satisfaction improved 20%
Leadership Skills improved 21%
Team Building Skills improved 37%
Ability to improve quality in the community improved 46%
What's next?
Earlier this year, we launched LiveWell Bold, a new endeavor funded by ODHS to scale up LiveWell. Over the next two years, we are going to:
Create new video and online training materials
Expand our coaching and leadership training
Introduce a LiveWell certification
Market and promote LiveWell
We’re also creating an Innovation Hub and an Ecosystem Hub to tackle challenges and identify opportunities in the sector. Stay tuned for more on these hubs in the coming months.
LiveWell Leader Moment
Guardian Angel Homes, a multi-facility organization with a community in Hermiston Oregon is our first LiveWell Leader. In three months, they cut their falls in half and reduced staff turnover four-fold. Staff, residents, and families were thrilled. Cecilia Owsley, Director of Clinical Practice, said:
“LiveWell is something that we’re going to continue to drive, work, and embed in the day-to-day culture. Staff feel isolated. Using LiveWell and the huddle board as a way to bring community and fluid conversation is something I think we should be sharing. For example, even if you’re going in and doing full PPE at huddle time, that’s the opportunity to have conversation and create transparency with family members. There’s even an opportunity to snap a picture of the board and share progress with the other homes - and make the Tudor Homes (memory care) still feel interconnected with the other parts of the campus.”
LiveWell can help you do that! We have the tools and support you need to engage your community and your team to show up for work prepared and inspired.
