LiveWell Exhibits at Largest OHCA Spring Expo Ever

OLD FRIENDS + NEW ACQUAINTANCES

Over 500 attendees came to this year's Expo, leading to bustling booth traffic. Our team chatted with LiveWell pilot program alumni from Guardian Angel Homes and MacDonald Residence, recent grads from Mount Bachelor Memory Care, and prospects from The Springs Senior Living, among others. We even shared our new branding with long-term care companies' owners and reps. We talked about the industry's future and how we can work together to get there.

Steve Mitchell and Barbara Kohnen Adriance prepare to share LiveWell's offering wth attendees.

ENGAGING INDUSTRY CHALLENGES: STAFFING + MENTAL HEALTH

The staffing crisis and mental health issues are top of mind for everyone. The keynote, How to Slay Workplace Burnout, addressed the immense pressures faced by staff. They're constantly firefighting, with high degrees of responsibility and no time for self-care. During the Expo, administrators, nurses, and activities directors voiced their worries about staff morale, retention, falls, and medication errors. When asked about learning to improve these areas, one ED said, “Time. We have no time.”

IT'S TIME TO MAKE POSITIVE CHANGE

That’s the irony, isn’t it? In order to save time, you have to invest time to learn a new way. When you need to document falls more quickly, or understand why medication errors keep happening, you need to invest time to learn a new practice. We developed the LiveWell Method™ foundational practices and tools with time in mind. We make it fast and easy to do the right thing, first by increasing communication and teamwork as this alum notes:

LiveWell literally helps people accomplish more within a given time frame. It’s the one thing that is actually proven to address staffing problems through a unique DHS-sponsored study by PSU, helping providers:

  • Develop more effective team leadership and communication skills

  • Improve critical thinking skills and collaboration among teams

  • Improve direct care and quality of life for all

  • Enhance staff morale and employee retention

All of which leads ultimately to higher occupancy and a healthier bottom line. LiveWell helps address the needs and pain points of every level of a residential care organization from ownership to management to caregiver and resident.

30+ Expo Attendees Express Interest in LiveWell's upcoming June Learning Cohort

Why should you join our NEXT ‘23 cohort and do LiveWell?

In addition to complying with quality assurance standards, LiveWell helps retain staff and build community. Care communities that do LiveWell have a 60% decrease in staff turnover. LiveWell also improves the quality of life for staff and residents. Residents have fewer falls and fewer medication errors, and staff experience fewer workplace injuries.

LiveWell communities also reduce their costs: Reduced falls and increased staff retention help communities save an average of $135,900 annually.

Thankful for warming weather,
